Ministry Of Sound

The threat of closure that looms so darkly over British institution Ministry Of Sound has reminded us all just how important this club has been — and continues to be. Not just to the capital or wider UK, but to the world's club scene.
Few other spaces can boast its 22-years-young heritage, its legendary list of guest DJs and residents, and, that most vital of all club components, its vertebrae-rattling soundsystem.
The current speakers in Ministry's main room, The Box, were designed and installed by Martin Audio in 2008, but received their last tweak in 2010, with 12 deadly deep subwoofers delivering bassquakes to the delirious Ministry congregation.
In 2013 Ministry added a host of new elements to The Box, including CO2 cannons and festival rainbow lasers, while its music policy continues to embrace the full spectrum of dance genres and DJs, boasting everyone from Sasha to Armin van Buuren, Nicky Romero to Eric Prydz. A message for Boris and his dastardly developers — hands off Ministry!
